Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support respects your privacy.

We believe people seeking support during grief should be able to use this website without unnecessary tracking or collection of personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be received when you visit faithharborpetlosssupport.com, what happens when you choose to contact us, and how third-party links are handled.

It also explains how our free memorial service handles the memorial you write, the photographs you add, and the email address you use to come back to it.

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support is operated by Faith Harbor Ministries, LLC.

Information we do not collect through this website

When you read the pages of this website, Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support does not use website forms or user accounts.

We do not currently use:

  • Analytics or behavioral tracking
  • Advertising or remarketing trackers
  • Tracking pixels
  • Website cookies
  • Local or session storage for tracking
  • User accounts or registrations
  • Newsletter signup forms
  • Contact or prayer-request forms
  • Online payment or checkout forms
  • Session recording or heatmaps

Simply visiting the website does not cause your browser to contact advertising, analytics, social-media, or other third-party tracking services.

The memorial service is the one part of Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support that does ask you for information, and only if you choose to use it. It is described in its own sections below. Creating a memorial still does not involve an account, a username, or a password.

Information automatically received by the web server

Like most websites, the server hosting Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support automatically records certain technical information when a page or file is requested.

Server and security logs may include information such as:

  • Your IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • The page or file requested
  • Browser or user-agent information
  • Referring page, when provided
  • HTTP status information
  • The amount of data transferred

Security systems may also record information about requests that are blocked or identified as potentially suspicious.

This information is generated as part of normal website hosting, operation, security, and troubleshooting.

We do not currently use this information to create advertising profiles or track visitors across websites.

Server-log retention may be determined by hosting and server systems, and we do not state a specific retention period that we cannot reliably guarantee.

Calling Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support provides a telephone number for people who would like pastoral support.

Pastoral Support: 330-442-4845

Selecting the telephone link on this website simply asks your device to open its telephone application. The Faith Harbor website itself does not receive information from that action.

If you choose to call, information you voluntarily provide during the call may include your telephone number, voicemail, name, or anything else you choose to share during the conversation.

Telephone communications take place outside the website and may also be processed by the telephone services used by you and Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support.

Please share only information you are comfortable providing.

Emailing Pastor Shawn

You may contact Pastor Shawn Miller at:

pastorshawn@faithharborpetlosssupport.com

Selecting the email link on this website asks your device to open its email application. Your message is not submitted through a form on the Faith Harbor website.

If you choose to send an email, we will receive the email address you use and whatever information you voluntarily include in your message.

Email communications also pass through the email services used by the sender and recipient and are therefore subject to the operation and privacy practices of those services.

Please do not send information by email that you would not be comfortable transmitting through ordinary email.

Pastoral communications

Information you voluntarily share while seeking pastoral support may be personal and sensitive.

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support treats pastoral conversations with care and respect. However, our pastoral-support service should not be understood as creating a therapist-client, physician-patient, veterinarian-client, attorney-client, or other professional relationship that carries legal confidentiality protections associated with those relationships.

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support provides pastoral grief support and is not an emergency service, mental-health treatment provider, or veterinary provider.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental-health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (opens in a new tab). For a life-threatening emergency, call 911. For a veterinary emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary hospital.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support does not currently set website cookies or use analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels, or similar visitor-tracking technologies.

We also do not currently use browser local storage, session storage, or similar technologies to build visitor profiles or track browsing behavior.

The memorial service uses one cookie, and only while you are using it. That cookie exists so the service can recognise your browser as you move between the pages of the memorial you are working on. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking you across websites.

If these practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect those changes.

Third-party content

The website’s fonts, images, styles, and other page resources are currently served directly from Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support. We do not currently load third-party advertising, analytics, social-media widgets, videos, maps, or similar embedded services when you simply view a page.

This means visiting a Faith Harbor page does not currently cause your browser to contact those kinds of third-party services automatically.

Links to other websites

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support provides links to outside resources that may be helpful, including Christian Scripture resources, veterinary resources, and crisis-support resources.

When you choose to follow an external link, you leave Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support.

The destination website operates independently and has its own privacy practices and policies. Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support does not control how those organizations collect, use, or protect information after you visit their websites.

Payments and purchases

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support does not currently collect payment-card information or process payments through this website.

Books, memorial resources, and other products or services may become available in the future. If future website features involve payment processors, retailers, forms, accounts, or other services that collect personal information, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.

The memorial service

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support provides a free memorial service for people who would like to create a lasting page in memory of a companion animal who has died.

The sections below explain how it handles your information, and they apply whenever you use it.

Creating a memorial does not require an account, a username, or a password.

Information the memorial service collects

When you use the memorial creator, we receive what you choose to enter. That may include:

  • Your companion’s name, and a nickname if you add one
  • Optional details such as the kind of animal they were, their breed, and dates you choose to share
  • The answers you write to the memorial questions
  • A note asking us to leave something out of the memorial, if you write one
  • Photographs you upload, and the display versions made from them
  • Whether you asked for faith content to be included, and which Scripture passage you selected, if any
  • The email address you give so that you can return to your memorial

Only your companion’s name is required. Every other question may be left blank, and a memorial made of nothing but a name is complete.

The memorial service also records basic technical information needed to run it safely. This includes limited operational and security records, and counts used to limit how often certain requests can be made. That information is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, not to build a profile of you.

Your email address and memorial access links

If you give an email address while creating a memorial, it is used to:

  • Establish that the memorial belongs to you
  • Send you a private link so you can return to your memorial later, including from a different device
  • Send you messages about your memorial and about the operation and security of the memorial service

Your email address is not shown on the memorial and is not displayed to visitors.

We do not use it to send newsletters, advertising, or fundraising appeals.

The links we email are private and are intended only for you. Please do not forward or share them, because anyone who opens one can reach and edit your memorial.

Photographs

A memorial may include up to five photographs.

When you upload a photograph, it is processed to produce the sized versions the memorial needs in order to display it properly. Once that processing has succeeded, the file you uploaded is discarded, and the versions made from it are what the memorial service keeps and shows.

While your memorial is still being written, its photographs are stored where they are not publicly reachable, and are shown only to you as you work on it.

When you publish a memorial, the versions needed to display it are placed where that memorial can show them. If you choose the Unlisted setting, those image files can be reached by anyone who has, or is given, the memorial’s web address.

Notes you ask us to leave out

One of the memorial questions invites you to tell us whether there is anything you would rather not have included in the memorial.

What you write there is treated as a note to us rather than as part of the memorial. It is stored separately from the memorial’s content, and the memorial service is designed so that it does not appear in the memorial or in its preview.

As with any information held on a computer system, we cannot promise that any stored information is absolutely inaccessible in every circumstance. Please share only what you are comfortable having stored.

Who can see a memorial

When you publish a memorial, you choose one of three settings:

  • Public — the memorial may be viewed by anyone with Internet access, and may appear in any Faith Harbor memorial listings or other ordinary public discovery features we may offer. No such listing exists at present, and being Public does not mean a memorial will be included in one.
  • Unlisted — the memorial can be viewed by anyone who has or receives its web address. It is not intended to appear in Faith Harbor memorial listings or in search-engine results.
  • Private — the memorial has no public page and is reached only through your own memorial access link.

Unlisted is not the same as confidential, and it is not access-controlled. Anyone you give the address to may pass it on to someone else, and we cannot promise that an unlisted address will never be discovered by a search engine or another third party.

You can change the setting, or take a memorial down, whenever you wish.

Before a memorial is published

A memorial is not published because you started one, answered the questions, confirmed your email address, or looked at the preview.

Nothing becomes publicly visible until you choose to publish it. The private preview exists so that you can see the memorial as it would appear before deciding.

After a memorial has been published

Once a memorial has been published publicly, or shared through an unlisted address, copies of what it contained may exist outside our control.

That can include copies held in browser caches, search-engine caches or indexes, web archives, screenshots, and copies that other people have saved or passed on.

If you take a memorial down, we remove the public memorial page and the images used to display it from the memorial service. We cannot delete copies that unrelated third parties have already kept.

Keeping and deleting memorial information

We keep what you have written and the photographs you have added for as long as your memorial exists, so that you can come back to it, change it, or publish it again later.

Taking a memorial down removes its public page and the images used to display it. It does not delete the memorial itself.

Incomplete working files left behind when a photograph fails to finish processing are cleared automatically after a short period.

Records kept for security, for limiting how often certain requests can be made, and for ordinary operation are kept only as long as reasonably needed to run and protect the service.

Hosting and server systems may keep their own logs and backups on their own schedules. For that reason we do not promise that every copy of every item disappears immediately everywhere.

If you would like your memorial and the information in it removed, please contact Pastor Shawn using the details at the end of this policy, and we will remove it from the active memorial service.

Artificial intelligence

The memorial creator does not use generative artificial intelligence to write, rewrite, summarise, or extend your memorial. What appears on the memorial is what you wrote, arranged under headings.

We do not use memorial stories or photographs to train artificial-intelligence systems.

If AI-assisted features are ever considered for the memorial service, this Privacy Policy would be reviewed before they were introduced.

Children’s privacy

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support does not currently create user accounts, ask visitors for their age or date of birth, or provide website features specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

Creating and managing a memorial is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not ask for a date of birth and do not use age-verification technology.

This applies to creating and managing a memorial. Anyone may read the support resources on this website and view public memorial pages.

If future features change these practices, this policy will be reviewed accordingly.

Security

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support uses HTTPS to protect information transmitted between your browser and the website.

The memorial service uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information it holds.

No method of transmitting or storing information can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore do not promise absolute security.

Apart from the memorial service, the website does not provide forms, accounts, or online payment processing, so no other personal information is submitted through the website itself.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Faith Harbor Pet Loss Support may update this Privacy Policy as the website develops, particularly if new features such as email subscriptions, accounts, payments, analytics, or other interactive services are introduced.

When the policy is updated, the Last updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
